Local Alumni Events Update 4/7/11

Upcoming local VT Events 
 

VT will be playing WFU in baseball starting tonight, April 8th at 6PM and continuing through the weekend, on the 9th at 4PM and 10th at 1PM in Winston-Salem. We will have Tech fans in attendance, so come out and support your hokies Go to www.Hokiesports.com for more details.

Our next alumni meeting will be held this Monday,  April 11th at 6PM at the Fatz Restaurant at 619 S. Regional Road near the Greensboro Airport. The social half hour begins at 5:30. Come out and network. No cost to attend or to be active in the alumni association. 

Our VT fundraiser golf tournament to raise money for scholarships will be held on April 21st at the Willow Creek Golf Course in High Point. This will be co-sponsored by the Hokie Club. We will have a shotgun start at 1PM. Call Bruce Coleman with questions at 336-643-6613.

The Orange and Maroon social/dinner will be held at the Doubletree Inn in Greensboro on Wed. May 4th. Athletic Director Jim Weaver and new Women’s basketball coach Dennis Wolff will be in attendance. Call Bruce Coleman for details at 336-643-6613

The Komen Race for the Cure is on Saturday, May 7th in Winston-Salem. Plan to walk with our VT alumni team in this important event to raise money for breast cancer. Call Jill Heyman for details at 757-619-9806.

We are planning a special outing on May 19th for a Social at a location to be announced in the Triad with representatives of the new VT Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute (VTC). Please  plan to attend as we learn more about this exciting new venture by our University.

Join us for a night at the Winston-Salem Dash Ballpark on Friday June 10th for Virginia Tech Alumni Night. This includes fireworks! Only 20 tickets are reserved, so sign up now! Call Tom Hughes for details at 336-407-8413

Our annual Alumni/Freshmen send-off picnic will be held at the Triad Park in Kernersville on August 4th. Details will be announced later. Please join us.

We are organizing a huge tailgate event for the Wake/VT football game on October 15th in the midway parking lot across from Groves Stadium in Winston-Salem. Watch for details. This is another huge fundraiser for our chapter.
