Hello Virginia Tech Alumni!

 

VT will be playing WFU in baseball starting today, April 8th at 6PM and continuing through the weekend April 9th at 4PM and 10th at 1PM in Winston-Salem. We will have Tech fans in attendance. Go to Hokiesports.com for more info.

Our next Alumni meeting will be held this coming Monday, April 11th at 6PM at the Fatz Restaurant at 619 S. Regional Road near the Greensboro Airport. The social half hour begins at 5:30. Come out and network. No cost to attend or to be active in the alumni association.

Come join us at the Hokie Club golf outing on April 21st at the Willow Creek golf course in High Point. Proceeds will go toward local scholarships to Tech students. Should be a fun outing. We will have a shotgun start at 1PM. For info, call Bruce Coleman at 336-643-6613.

We are planning a special outing on May 19th (new date) at a location to be announced in the Triad for a social and to meet representatives of the new VT Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute (VTC). Please mark your calendars as we learn more about this exciting new venture by our University.

The Orange and Maroon Dinner and social will be held on Wed. May4th at the Doubletree Inn in Greensboro. We will have athletic Director Jim Weaver and new Women’s basketball coach Dennis Wolff in attendance. Please come out for this exciting event! Call Bruce Coleman at 336-643-6613 for more info.

The Komen Race for the Cure is on Saturday, May 7th in Winston-Salem. Plan to walk with us in this important event to raise money for a cure for breast cancer. We have a local VT alumni team for you to join. Contact Jill Heyman 757-619-9806 for more info if you would like to sign up.

We are having a Virginia Tech night at the Winston-Salem Dash ballpark on Friday June 10th at 7PM. If you would like to attend, please call Tom Hughes at 336-407-8413. If you have not seen the new ballpark, you are in for a treat! We have reserved 20 tickets, so space is limited. Sign up today!

Our annual VT alumni/Freshman sendoff picnic will be held at the Triad park in Kernersville on August 4th . Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. Details to be announced.

We are organizing a huge tailgate event for the VT/Wake football game in Winston-Salem on Oct 13th in the Midway parking lot across from Groves Stadium in Winston-Salem. This is a huge fundraiser for our chapyter scholarship fund. More details later.

Whew! This is a lot of activity for our chapter. Please come out and support VT and our local activities!
